Bent a new set of bindings for the back and installed. Cut the fret slots in the EIR fingerboard.

Final level and buffing of a guitar I've been building for over 4 years now
Neck and bridge will be glued on tonight or tomorrow, Wednesday I'll have string on it bliss

Then it's on to two new builds....

Built the tailpiece, pickguard, bridge and thumbrest out of African blackwood for one of the archtop basses I'm working on. Started wiring up the floating humbucker. Another week and a half or so and I can polish up the lacquer on the guitar and start putting things together. Waiting for lacquer to cure is one of my least favorite parts

Moving right along on the mini-bimbo. Box is together and taps quite nicely. Here's a comparison to the parlor and big-bimbo...

Both BB and the parlor are 24.625" scale.

And also did the shellac seal on my 9th.

Me jealous? neah, I have like 100 sets like that in my basement and use them for my student models or in 5 ply laminates.

I am pissed though I failed recognizing it. It really looks like Malaysian at least in that photo. Here is a similar one I ordered recently.

Man I haven't participated in one of these threads in a long time. I've got my shop put back together from the fire....but I think the smell is going to take a while.

On Alexandru's Malaysian Blackwood....I haven't seen sets like that in a while. I love that stuff.

I've been working on an OM for my cousin and a medium jumbo for me. Here are some pics.

Drew out a 1 and 3/4 nut with 2 and a 1/4 at the bridge fingerboard...

Made a new bridge....style that is....

Slotted a fingerboard and then used the template the pattern it out.

Building an attached shed to the back of the shop for the DC. It will have filters for return air. I was going to put the little compressor in there too, but as the door is on the outside, and knowing my laziness, I wouldn't turn it off and drain it as it should be.

I have both my dc and compressor in same room and ran the on of switch to both into shop on standard light switches . leave the units on in the lean to and use light switches to tur on and off in the shop , works very well , trust me ....... one lazy guy to another laughing6-hehe

Hey Wes - you are going to love that Ridgid OS - so many uses.
Michael - that is an interesting fan pattern on your classical.
Fillipo - that burl veneer is....insane!
Todd - that is one busy shop!

I have 2 new builds started - one will be a Nylon String (not classical ;) ) with a 13th-fret join on a cutaway, using a bolt on M&T neck.
The second is a 14-fret SS non-cutaway using some rather intense Quilted Bubinga:

Binding central here.
Re-binding the koa build. [headinwall]
Not my favorite thing.
got a lot of work to clean up that ledge.
Guess I need a router binding jig.
Also bent bindings for an elec, and bound the fb.
Waiting for a 1" bearing for my binding cutter
for the elec. ledge.
Spruce bridge plate with lignum vitae patch on #4 Weissey.
Koa is #3.
Ha!

Finishing up 3 guitars (2 shown below). The finish on both is EM6000 over a shellac sealcoat - pores were filled with LMI's water based pore filler. I've been really happy with their pore filler - easy application, quick drying, & no poisonous stuff...

Figured Black Walnut Back & Sides, Bearclaw Sitka top, Ziricote binding/fingerboard/bridge, honduran mahogany neck, rosette inlay & fingerboard all in white mother of pearl...Peake headstock logo in indian rosewood

Koa back and side set, bearclaw top, curly maple/IRW binding, ebony bridge & fingerboard, Scripture inlay all done in white mother of pearl

And here's one that I think I'll keep for myself... :D

The sycamore OM I'm building (after the OLF plan) for my son is almost ready.
Some more work on the bridge, then I will start finishing it.

Hi Wim - that is a pretty cool bridge - how about a closeup of the rosette? Looks intriguing.....
