I'm working with bloodwood here, with pretty severe runout. Everything else on the guitar, not this particular one, but an electric with the same headstock, went great. I was able to make the top bend at the headstock, but the 2 small bends at the nut are giving me problems. First piece I tried broke there. I'm working on the second try, which I am putting small kerfs in the back of the binding, and hope that will work. Next try, if that doesn't work, will be multiple thin layers. Any advice? This headstock isn't routed to finished shape yet, but it's close enough to see where the tricky bends are. Thanks! Help! |

Maybe I got lucky, but bloodwood bent well for me. Have you tried Supersoft II? I hear good things. The next time I'm bending a high dollar board, I'll probably try it. Seems like cheap insurance. Mike |

Bloodwood has always bent fine for me, nothing special ever done. Greg |

This is my second try at wood bindings, first time to try installing at my problem area. I usually use ivoroid, or whatever it's called. The blood bends nice. I got a stick at the local hdwd store, so it was cheap. run-out sucks tho. Guess I'll keep trying till I get it. |
