New here so excuse me if this is a stupid question or in the wrong section. I would love to learn to build acoustics but first I have a question with a Gibson J200 I have. It has been set up with medium gauge strings and I've recently noticed a slight "buldge" around the bridge. I have heard that a slight lift is normal and fine but was just wondering how much if it actually is normal. If I take a straight edge and run it from the neck towards the bridge and sit it flat against the side (on the binding) there is about a 1/16" to 3/32" gap at the bridge end. And the same if I measure from the "heel" end to the bridge. Does this sound Normal? Sorry in advance for any terminology errors. Thanks. |

Ok when I measured this way I got an 1/8" on either side so I assume this is pretty normal? |
