I've been to 3 separate home improvement stores, Fastenal and have searched the internet. Having trouble finding the individual items for the Lexan 3/8" x 8' x 10", all the 1/2" 13unc parts, and the piano hinge. Any one that has built this from the OLF plans care to share where you sourced these materials? Thanks! |

Sometimes the small old-time corner hardware store will be the place to go when the big stores don't have what you want. Go here for 3/8" polycarbonate plate: http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cf ... op_cat=181 |

Thanks for the link. Question: Would UHMW work as well as the Lexan or Polycarbonate? It's on the same website and it about half the cost. |

UHMW has about half the strength of lexan and may flex too much, maybe. |
