What kind of wood is this?

Post subject:  What kind of wood is this?
I picked up a piece of honduran mahogany today that measures 3x9x48. I think I got a good deal, but would like to hear your opinions about its value. The picture makes it look warped, but it isn't. The other piece he gave me, saying the guy he got it from called it "mystery wood". He had no idea either. It is cracked down the middle and rings like a bell when tapped. Any ideas?

My guess is either granadillo or Bolivian rosewood - is it really dense ? heavy ? does your nail dig in easy or not ?

No odor, even after sanding a little and shaving a sliver out of the crack.

I have some dark brown wood that looks like your picture, but it stinks when I cut it, but I've forgotten what it is called, but I guess it doesn't matter, since yours must be something else.

You can't be sure from a photo but the thicker piece looks like cherry to me.

You have 9 board feet of honduran. 12/4 FSC honduran is currently about $5.90 a board foot, I just purchased 300 bf last week. T
