I am cutting some classical FB & Bridges to length to send to someone and in my indeavor to be precise I would like to know the maximum length a classical FB & bridge would be exactly, (because I know nothing about classics). For example, on my M OOO the FB is 17.875 |

For example, on my M OOO the FB is 17.875 Mike- Unless it's a 'surprise' gift, it's probably best to ask the recipient, as the FB length will depend on scale length, and # of frets (some classicals have an 'extra' fret (or two) hanging into the soundhole). Since the end of the classical FB is generally curved, I find I need a bit extra length so I can 'zero in' on the correct dimension as I fit the board. Bridge length is generally in the 190mm range, but again it's probably best to ask. If you have plenty of wood, you could just use the dimensions from one of the commercial suppliers, I suppose. I'd be happy to check a few of my guitars if you need more info. Cheers John |
