Hello there everyone It took ages and ive finally scavenged enough wood for my workbench and came up with a design that im happy with ... ( i wont get into that ) but ive run into one of those .. mabye i should go to bed moments Im going to laminate 2cm ash onto door frames thats what the extra lines are for if your wondering thanks for your future suggestions tomas gilgunn |

I don't understand your question but the name of the joint that you're picturing is called a rabbet. |

Are all the joints glued or are you looking for a friction fit? |

Thanks for the reply i couldnt get any luck with google i should have explained my question better Basically i was wondering what kind of joint would be the strongest/most suitable joint to acompany the rabbet joint ..... (I havent cut the rabbet yet so i still have all the meat) Bearing in mind of the mortice and tenons are benath and that theirs going to be a vise there Sorry if its a bit off topic thanks tomas |

Hi again i was planning to glue it togther mabye for the lower legs i might make it a wedged tenon or something incase i cant get it through a door have you any advice on gluing this vise end section ? thanks |

IMO the skirt (the short part connecting the legs at the upper end of the leg assembly) should be a glued mortise and tenon joint and the stretcher (the long span) should be an unglued stub tenon with a bed bolt type connector through the leg into the stretcher in order to be able to knock down the joint. |
