Just curious.....

When you bind a fingerboard, how thick do you make your binding?

I have some Madrose that is .100 - .110

Seems a bit thick to me.

Paul, I bind my finger boards at .06.

What are all these decimal number thingies y'all are using? Mine are 3/32 of an inch.

.08, because that's what most places sell, and it looks nice as-is.
I like the devil-proof formula though :twisted:

If I was cutting bindings myself, I'd probably go with .09-.10, so I'll take that MRW off your hands if you don't want it :mrgreen:

I think it would look great on an ebony board, with .02 maple and .01 black lines before the binding, and .02 black side purfling to mahogany neck.

1/16" here, same as my body binding.

If you go too thick, you'll risk the fret ends lifting. If I use a colored or shell purfling inside the binding, I cut through it before adding the 0.060" (or so) binding.
