Post subject:  Hairline crack in sitka spruce

I have a good set of sitka spruce with a tight ring count that has a hairline crack about an inch long..I thought I would shellac the area and hit it with some thin ca....is that acceptable ??????

My experience is that CA will cause a yellow stain on spruce.

Don't add shellac.

Where is the Hairline and how long?
Does it terminate at the edge or not?
Can you flex and see it open on both sides?

this is an easy repair . No on the shellac as stated prior and no on the ca . Tite bond or hot hide glue will work. No need to make it harder than it is .

the crack is in lower bout area..its a thick piece of sitka, dropped and hit on one side ..I steamed it out and saw it had just a very small hair line crack...how would I use titebone..just kind of force it into the small crack as I flex it?????

thanks for the replys
