we discussed a little while back about building a guitar "stash" and ive felt pretty reluctant to buy anything too pricey or anything that i didnt feel comfortable building with right away. ive been pretty bummed about some very nice sets that ive watched come and go because i hesitated or just didnt feel right spending the money. well i finally bought something that i know im not going to build with for at least a few guitars. its an above average set of ziricote that i payed what i thought was a reasonable price. check it out. |

Beautiful set. That should bring a smile to your face as often as you look at it. And how do you put a price on that? I'd say money well spent! Steve |

Wonderful set, definitely a good carrot to keep you building ![]() I also want this macassar from Allied though: Attachment: Macassar.jpg To go with this awesome sinker top I got from Cool Tools: Attachment: SinkerP.jpg And inlay this bookmatched pair of camatillo rosewood headplates on the back. It looks like a dragon face, so I'd cut it out like such, or possibly shave to make it narrower like the second version: Attachment: CamatilloDragon.jpg Attachment: CamatilloDragon2.jpg That macassar sapwood is just such a great place for the big dragon inlay... I think I need an addiction counselor. |

yeah, that mac ebony has been haunting me as well. i almost pulled the trigger quite a few times. im thinking about buying that piece that dennis wants just to save it from having a dragon inlayed into it! ![]() ![]() alexandru, that is an awesome piece of wood. i dont think you are going to regret that. |

I could just as easily inlay that thing into a 3 piece back of maple and EIR for similar effect. But... Alexandru has one now... |
