What string height above the top do you aim for with a baritone, 1/2" like a regular guitar? Also what string height above the fb is considered good action? |

There are so many variables with Baritones that I think you will have a hard time finding standard measurements. I build mine with similar geometry to my standard acoustics and then try and get the strings as low as I can for the strings and tunings that each customer will be using. I'm not sure what you mean when you say string height above the top. Are you taking that measurement at the bridge? That probably wasn't much help, but I'm not really sure there is a standard set of measurements for a baritone setup like there is for standard guitars. Josh |

I set them up to the same specs as regular acoustics, 4/64ths on the treble side to 6/64ths on the bass side (inches), measured from the top of the fret to the bottom of the string. Some of the fingerstyle guitarists play them a 64th lower. |

Thanks, yes, what I am interested in most is the string height above the top measured at the bridge. Is it the same standard 1/2" as a regular ss guitar? I guess what I'm trying to find out is if the neck angle needs to come forward a touch. |
