I'm building a baritone ukulele. I would like to make the neck about 1.5 inches longer than my plan. If I use the fret spacing calculator on the stumac website is this a problem? |

For sure, you can make the scale you want... but I would suggest you to draw it down on paper, to see if all is gonna bo okay with the bridge, soundhole, etc... Francis |

As Francis says, you'll have to draw it out on paper. Uke's are small so you don't have a lot of room to move the bridge around. My Baritone Uke plan uses an 18 1/2" scale with a 14th fret joint. If I add 1 1/2" and make it a 20" scale and use a 16th fret joint, the bridge moves about 1/4" towards the tail block. Steve |
