I've got this bookmatched set of flamed ebony. Each side is an inch thick. It's the dark ebony with grayish streaks. It's been in my workshop for several years and appears quite stable. I was going to use it for a neckthrough, as I can make the front and backs of the body wings matched that way, and also have enouh wood for the fretboard and headstock binding to match. Lately I've been thinking that since the set is quartersawn, I can get 4 sets of fretboards, bridges, and headplates out of it that would be matched sets per guitar, possibly 6. There are some small pinholes here and there that don't affect the strength or integrity of the wood and could easily be filled in and not noticeable at all. What would you guys do? I'm posting this in both the acoustic and electric sections for maximum response, since I think it applies to both. |

I would include some photos if you want more imput but that's just me. It's hard to throw out ideas without the visual. |

Resize them with an editor, to something less than 200KB and upload directly from your computer to the board. Up to 8 pictures per post. As many posts as you like. I use Windows Image Resizer. It allows you to right click on an image, select resize, and it makes a new image depending on the size you choose, with the same name, but with (size choice) inserted at the end of the name. I use Large when I'm posting here, and they are resized from about 3+MB to about 100 - 120 KB in size. With Image Resizer you can actually do it on the fly. Click browse, select your folder with the images, right click on the image you want to upload, choose resize, then choose the resized image when it pops in the open folder, and click <open>. I usually resize in batches, though. You can do a whole folder at a time. |
