This is my first OM size guitar . Here are the specs.
Top -Adirondack (sitka braces)
Back & sides - East Indian Rosewood.( Adi bracing)
Neck - Mahogany
Fingerboard , Bridge &b headplate - Ebony
Binding - curly maple
Rosette -silky oak.
Overall I 'm fairly pleased with the result. It really surprised me with the volume of sound it is capable of . I made it 1/4 inch deeper than standard thinking the bass might need some help but need not have worried. One thing that does concern me is that all the main resonances have ended up right on fretted notes. Main air 103hz (G#), Main top 185hz(F#) Main Back 232hz (A#). Occasionally when playing I can hear some strange harmonic type sounds idunno . I realise it is early days and I certainly won't be rushing in to try and fix. I would welcome any suggestions/thoughts as to the best way to move the main resonances away from the fretted notes. I will try to post a sound clip in the next couple of weeks . Thanks for looking.

nice box!
the overtones will probably change.
they did on a weiss style i made.
in d tuning, i heard an e overtone, then that went away.
the other day in e tuning, when i let the open chord sustain, i heard a strong b harmonic.
i think that's cool, because it's in tune!

Clean work.
Give it time time open up .
It needs to have the pull of the strings on the top for awhile .
It will sound different in 3 months.

Thanks folks for your kind words . I really feel as though my basic construction/playability has taken a big step in the right direction with this instrument. The X factor tonewise and the final fit and finish still have a long way to go.

I hear you Mike . It actually sounds pretty decent to my ears, but the urge to try and squeeze a little extra out of it is quite strong. I think I will start #5 soon to get my focus away from it's imperfections. :)
Alan the Silky Oak rosette was not planned but ended up covering up a blunder while routing for the original herringbone one . Hope you can see it better with this shot.
