Is McFadden Rosewood Sealer still available? If so, where can you buy it?

If not, is there another similar sealer that can be purchased in small quantities (like a quart or pint)? Looking for an isolante type sealer that makes the wood look nice to go under KTM-SV. Would a vinyl sealer work? I'm about to give up looking for an isolante type sealer and go with shellac.

ML Campbell, Ilva, Chemcraft, and probably others make barrier coat type sealers. These sealers use isocyanate hardners, which are hazardous. I think using products like these kinda defeats the purpose of using a waterbased finish. I believe shellac would be a better choice. What does Grafted Coatings recommend for a sealer under KTM-SV? Most 2K sealers are designed to be used under a finish that used the same hardner.

FWIW, I use all kinds of hazardous stuff. I don't use waterbased finishes. Edit/added. I'm not meaning to imply waterbased finishes are bad, I'm equipped to use other finishes that I have experience, and have had good luck with.

The smallest quantity Ilva sells is a gallon.....so it's expensive and more so after you add haz/mat shipping charges. I'll have to check into the other two.

Nitro is explosive, cures slow, shrinks, and never fully hardens so those are at least some reasons for not using that product. I don't think varnish is very easy to spray........but I've not tried it. But point well taken. I'll likely use shellac.

I use ML Campbell exotic woods sealer when I use their catalyzed urethane. I buy it locally. I've never bought less than a gallon so I don't know if it's available in smaller quanities. I'd check the dealer lists of a bunch of manufacturers to see if you can avoid the haz mat charges. I doubt KTM-SV burns into sealers like this, so scuffing may be necessary. I also don't think vinyl sealer is appropriate under it.

Be careful is you use some kind of "Rosewood sealer" type sealer. They use an isocynate hardner. Isocynates are bad for you(I don't understand all the stuff on the MSDS LOL) and isocynates are odorless. I use a supplied air respirator when I'm messing with the stuff. There's cartridge type respirators that work for isocynates, but since they're odorless you can't tell when the cartridges need changing.
