Post subject:  Thank you John Hall, David La Plante. and everyone

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped Date the old Martin I have in my shop. Especially to David and John for sharing their knowledge of Martin history.

It turned out to be built in May 1897 by a person who's initials were A.V. I just took a lot more light and another mirror to turn the image right side up to allow me to read the penciled date on the top.

Thanks again everyone, I learned a lot.

Cecil

You're welcome Cecil.
There is the name Albin Voight who was associated with Martin though I'm not sure just which perod it was.

Also a tidbit from the web:"There is an Albin (Voight) (note spelling) who worked in Philadelphia in the 1920s"
