I finally got this guitar done - ready to go out the door this weekend. It really is a very nice sounding guitar. I am very proud of it - as it presented many challenges along the way toward completion. Enjoy Stephen |

Great looking guitar, Stephen. That's fine work. Did you do the inlay too? |

Thanks guys. I bought the inlay from Andy - it is a peg head inlay that just used on the FB. When I first started building guitars, I bought about 9" of fossilized walrus oosik for a great deal, and have gotten a great number of nuts out of that stock...so you are looking at a little piece of fossilized walrus penis. All jokes aside, it is a beautiful material. Stephen |

Stephen, I still have some Oosik laying around also, although there were no nuts with it. ![]() Nice looking guitar. Is the binding Bloodwood, or offcuts from the sides? Tim |

Three comments: You have every reason to be proud of this instrument! A lot of us have every reason to be envious! The new owner has every reason to be ecstatic! Patrick |

Very nice workmanship, very artistic, I like it very much, good choice of materials. It may be just the way it shows in the picture but it looks as though that beatiful nut could use the top filed down, some of the strings look a little deep. |

That's great. Lots of detail but it all seems to flow/belong. Lots of wow factor without being too much/too busy. The walrus oosik is very cool. |

Thanks guys: Sometimes it has been said that the "pat on your back" side of this forum is what makes it unprofessional. But having been a part of this forum for my massive 3 year building career - each time I get something done and can post it, I am always encouraged to get closer to the final vision with the next build - always encouraged to build, period. That is the type of community I love being a part of - so thank you guys. After looking at the nut slot, it is normally close to what I do, where the 3 large diameter strings are 0.5-0.75 deep in the nut, and the the thinner diameter strings are 100% covered. If this is not optimum, I would love to hear what I should be doing, because that is just what I have always done? Stephen |

Real Nice looking guitar! Very good color matches as well. As far as the string dept in the nut, I usually put all the strings half way down but what you did should be ok too.Great Job! ![]() |
