Is Borson Precision resaw (in Fort Bragg) the guy to go to around here? Are there other good options. Have some BRW that is too nice for me to screw up. Thanks, Peter Z |

LMI has always done a superlative job in resawing Brazilian rosewood for me. |

http://www.borsonresaw.com/. Please tell us what your experience is like. I imagine him to be somewhat eccentric based on his pictures and website (his photo reminds me of some actor, like maybe Vincent Price???) Mike |

Christopher Lee. (In no way a comment on his sawing!) |

While I don't have any recent experience using Dave's services I did have some wood resawn a few years ago. He did an excellent job and the yield was quite good because of the narrow kerf blade he uses and the smoothness of the saw cut which required very little sanding. It also means you get the best possible book match. |

It looks that this chap specializes in resawing and from the info on his web page I would be willing to try him. He may have some sort of guarantee system. Worth a try in my opinion. Tom |

I always thought he looked more like Stan Lee than Christopher Lee...must be a family thing. I've heard good things about Borson; it's where I tell people to go since I'm not resawing for others right now. |

I know people that have used Borson with excellent results. If you have expensive wood and want maximum yeild he is the guy to go to in the bay area. You will be paying for at least 1 new blade and a minimum set up charge on top of his hourly rate, but the wood will come back to you needing mimimum clean up. What I have seen has been flat and clean needing .010 cleanup on each side Tim |
