I'm going to be around there next week and was wondering if I could meet up with a luthier there so if anyone would be happy to show me some stuff that'd be great. Also, are there any big time music stores down in that area that sell like REALLY good stuff. Thanks guys.

Ian

There's a place called Charley's Guitar shop over off Royal Lane in Dallas. You should be able to find them on the internet. Don't know what you consider the "good stuff", but they typically have a decent supply of the $$$$$$$ stuff. Good luck!

Ian, check out LINT, Luthiers' Interactive of North Texas.
http://www.lint.org
Turns out there are a number of fine luthiers in the DFW area.

I'm new both to this forum, and the Dallas (Addison, actually) TX area... sort of (long story). I've not seen responses to my emails to the lint.org crew, so although they appear to be semi-active, I don't know that they'll respond quickly (it's been about two months since my last email, no response yet).

Suffice it to say, I'm glad you asked the question! I'm anxiously awaiting responses as well!

The next LINT (Luthiers Interactive of North Texas)meeting should be coming up this month(they meet on Saturday's every other month). Keep watching their web site, they will post date and location as soon as it's arranged.

Good call Steve. Guess I should have thought to plug the LINT group as well. I've been going to the meetings for a little over a year now. Rusty is right. Just watch the web page for the announcement and show up to the meeting. Very friendly people with a lot of knowledge they are very willing to share.
