Post subject:  Plastic binding (purfling) question

Looking around. The only plastic purfling I can find is from LMI. I want to have some decorative lines on the side of the guitar under the binding. Problem is that all the purfling is 1/4" tall. Am I supposed to rip this on my bandsaw? Can you get a decent enough edge that way or is there someone else selling .060" square WBW purfling? Thanks for any help.

Regards, Peter Z

Check out Guitar Maker's Connection at Martin. They sell purfling narrow enough to use as you describe.
Go to www.Martinguitar.com and then to shop-parts and kits

why plastic when you could use the fiber/ wood w/b/w 3/32” x .060” and get the same result?

Peter, Stewmac has ABS (plastic) ... all I've ever used actually. You might also be interested in my "binding slitter" tutorial. viewtopic.php?f=10117&t=19132
