Filippo: My brain is not thinking very well. I saw set up and started thinking guitar set up and sat there with a dumb look on my face until I saw your picture. Thanks for straighting me out. Take care.

Very informative! I will definitely be stealing....er... borrowing some of your ideas. I am starting to see too many loose tools strewn about my shot. Great ideas!

Invent Tools for sure. They have so many tools that I'm sure it must be covered. Take care again.

Im jealous of all the slick organization you have going on Fillipo. I am the kind of person who loves organization but never actually sets the time aside for it...

The day I get a table saw I will probably spend a month making drawers and cabinets.

Nice work there. In the drawer I see the StewMac neck gauge unit. I use the notched straightedge- I also use the dial indicator for nut slotting. Did you ever use the notched with feelers before getting the assembly?

Don't mean to hijack-- but, yes, I was referring to the "Mounted DI" for neck relief. I bought the notched straightedge and just feel really confident when I use it-though raised frets have not been a chronic symptom for me. On your holders, the slanted access slots are just plain classy

I refuse to be embarrassed by the number of StewMac tools I own- I have not been disappointed yet. I can do an electric setup right in front of a customer and never miss a beat- hand it to him, then adjust some more. I actually look like I know what I'm doing-they don't ask where all the tools come from-they seem to be pleased seeing a coordinated effort to reach their needs.

I have the same reverence for the nut slotting DI- only need two hands now-since I have to send out the Seals or Rangers or Lewis and Clark to find one of my capos. My hat is off to Erlewine and McCrostie for many clever tools that just plain work AT LEAST as well as advertised.

They deserve to be stored as you now have- just as a sign of appreciation. [:Y:]

I may have to pull up roots and move to a climate where the lack of good heat will not kill me-my own dang faul  gaah t- and as I thought about that( considering New Orleans) I pictured the luthier tools I would literally "tote." I could fit the crucial stuff, the majority of which would be StewMac,(without doubt my PC 310 and my Foredom rig, maybe 4 bench and 3 specialty planes, too) in an old time wooden carpenter's tote-the ones about 30 inches long with the single 1 1/4 inch thick dowel handle. mt

I have this little gem-bought it when first introduced. It may not be convex enough for some, though.http://www.lie-nielsen.com/viewimage.php?grp=1313&layout=blank

Over the years, I often have used tool holders similar to that which Filippo uses ...especially as they relate to certain operations. I especially like to use fancy cutoffs from neck blocks and 7-layer electric guitar laminates which I just can't get myself to throw away. They're portable and can be moved to whichever bench I am working and keep the horizontal surfaces uncluttered and tools organized and easy to find. Here are 2 of mine which I find irreplaceable:
