Good tip on the wrongly sized wire. You can greatly reduce chipping when pulling frets by wetting a finger and running it on both sides of the fret to be removed. Once the fretboard is damp anything that would normally chip simply lifts a tad making it a piece of cake to press back in place and thin CA. That's a David Collins tip that helps me pretty often. |

Similarly, I have this same problem. I fretted one guitar in its entirety with tremendous difficulty (then went back and refretted with different wire) and then when I finally smartened up to check it, most of the tube of wire I have is 0.024" Stephen |
