We are headed to Littleton, CO today for a wedding this weekend and will be in the area till around Tuesday. I'm curious if there are any luthrie related sites of interest in the area I might could visit while in the area. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Darryl, Sorry I missed this posting. I'm in Denver, but nothing really to see at my house, as I don't even have a shop. RRCC is located in Lakewood, which is a suburb of Denver. It is on the west side of Denver. However, I don't think there are Luthier classes going on in the summer, but the shop may be open for you to tour. You can maybe get in to see the luthier shop, but there may not be anyone around. You may want to contact Robert O'Brien, and ask to see the shop, or stop by his place. Not sure what he has going on these days. Also, if you want to play some high end guitars and see one of the best repair shops in Denver, visit the Olde Town Pickin Parlor in old downtown Arvada(North Denver). Get there on a Monday or Wednesday to visit with Edward Dick(banjolas.com), the head repair guy and local guitar/instrument builder. If you have lots more time, give Michael Bashkin a call and head up to Fort Collins(about 1 1/2 hours North of Denver). Bashkinguitars.com should give you some more information. Or visit the CO Luthiers website for other Luthiers in CO: http://coloradoluthiers.org/ Enjoy your trip! |
