hello everyone just thought you might like to see this it needs final finishing but i need to make a bench for it first so it can be strapped down it must weigh at least 30kg (i thought i had made it heavy enough ) but even this near solid twin piped contraption doesent cut the mustard in the weight department id say theirs a lot of people here that thought of making something like this but had too much things to do (id be embarresed to tell you how long it took me ) objective : strap down mission : make bench basically im going to have four holes for the legs to sit in and make the bench fairly slim so i dont have to jump up on my big bench and be tripping over straps i figure i might as well make a " dedicated semi trad island luthiers only bench " ive looked at the archives with little results for my needs im basically lookin for a bench with holddowns for neck shaping ,thicknessing with hand planes , sanding braces in radius dishes , using shooting boards, binding by gramil would love to see some of your examples for any of these things i need a foundation to plan for my needs any ideas, links ,tips articles would be really helpfull thanks hope you got at least a laugh out of it Tomas Gilgunn |
