For those of you who have been at it for a while you have no doubt seen it all before. For those who haven't and are just starting off, this is what you can achieve in a short period of time with a kit and loads of help from this forum. John |

Hi Craig - The secret to my success ![]() I have no plans on the finish all I know at the moment is that it will be brush on and water based, I am told I don't need filler on Mahogany - no doubt I will be posting when I get to that point. This forum is the the best place for advice I log on every day and get withdrawal symptoms if I miss a day ![]() Thanks for the post John PS a year planning and about six weekend to build |

Really nice job. I was contemplating starting a project guitar and invited my 2 kids to join in and do it as a family project. May I ask where you purchased your kit? Looking forward to seeing yours finished Thanks, Marc |

Looking forward to seeing yours finished Thanks, Marc Hi - Its a Martin Kit purchased from John Hall at Bluescreek Guitars - I also purchased a PDF book on building kist by Bill Cory. An internet search should take you to the respective websites. I chose mahogany back and side as it was cheaper and as it was my first it was a case of damage limitation, I would use Mahogany again as it is nice to work with. I started a blog but I must confess that rapid progress has meant it has not been updated as much as I would have wanted. Good luck with the build. John |
