This is a fantastic little set. It is a highly figured set of TIGER MYRTLE large enough for an 0 or Parlor size guitar. It has nice color and figure and will make a dramatic visual statement under finish. Retail value on this set is $250, but we will end the auction early for a bid of $175 plus throw in free domestic shipping. The auction ends Tomorrow (SATURDAY) at 3PM EST. Good Luck |

If that were a jumbo set I'd be completely broke. Been looking for a set of tiger myrtle. It's just going to have to wait until Christmas time. |

Ditto. Never again. I got 9 PM's yesterday, some with ridiculous waits for their wood, and some that actually gave up on getting it. I guess that makes me spokesman for the group. You have 4 days to get me my wood. If you can't get it to me in 4 days, don't bother to send it. I will contact Paypal and get my refund. So, anyone bidding on this wood keep in mind that while Brock will willingly take your $$$, he is not too swift on keeping up his end of the deal. BIG PUSH, my _ _ _. Sorry doesn't work unless you correct your ways. |

I still wait on my 3 Pack of AAA+ Western Red Cedar Tops (for $99). Paid in januari 2010. That's right. Januari. After a few e-mails (and the same lies) I don't bother anymore. Best regards, Edzard |

Wow... I thought I was alone in this. It's only been a couple of months for me & I was thinking about bidding on another set. Guess I'll save my money. |

I am always about giving someone a 2nd chance to make things right - but it is obvious that there is a breakdown in the execution of the shipment of wood sets purchased on auctions at OLF that has become a pattern and is creating ill-will on the site. I would just suggest that Brock and Lance suspend any further auctions until all items are shipped out to people who have already paid. It seems bad business to be running more auctions until this issue resolved. Once all items have been shipped and there is confirmation that all parties have received their wood - then and only then should they entertain resuming auctions - but there should be a plan on how to avoid the problem again. I would suggest that before a set is it put up for auction that it be boxed up and ready for shipment - with only a label being required on the box. This is not rocket science - and I think many people are being offended by promises that aren't being kept. Let's not let this tear this community apart - it CAN be fixed. Worse case - let's just end the auctions. I can live with that. |

My suggestion would be that if you can't wait, buy it somewhere else. I have not been stiffed yet, and I have bought a lot of stuff here, if you want to check the threads. Everything in time! I know, when I bid, that if Brock is shipping it, I may have to wait. Now, I have already received my WRC, which Lance shipped, and I bid on, what, last week? I think we have to understand that these guys are not warehouse distribution operations, and don't have a shipping staff, but months should be the exception. There's little excuse for waiting 9 months for a premium membership package, or 4 months for a set of wood. |

I think we have to understand that these guys are not warehouse distribution operations, and don't have a shipping staff, but months should be the exception. There's little excuse for waiting 9 months for a premium membership package, or 4 months for a set of wood. I would have full confidence in Lance shipping something out. I hope none of this is any reflection upon him personally. I've got no problem waiting a set amount of time as long as I'm told this up front and honestly. This did not happen. If someone tells me I'll ship your item in 3 months (random time frame as an example) if you bid on it, then I can decide if I want to bid on it or not based upon that. That's not the case. Instead it seems people are being deceived about the actual shipping of items all the wile new auctions are going up almost daily. That's a problem in my estimation. Clear and honest communication is key here. If it's going to take you a long time to ship something out just say so and then do whatever it takes to stick with that. If you can't do that then things like this are going to pop up. This has been building for a while now under the surface. I think we all understand Brock is not a warehouse however it seems people are angry over the lack of truthful communication even more than the slow shipping. No one here is perfect. Far from it. I've made more than my fair share of big mistakes. The only bad mistakes are the ones you don't learn from. Seems like this is the perfect opportunity to learn from a mistake. |

I think there is a good middle-ground that can be achieved here. I think everyone has some good points in their posts. Some up-front communication from Brock on what his timeline looks like would definitely save people some headache, it may also prevent new-comers (who aren't familiar with the norm) from leaving the board in a huff. Personally, I would like the Auctions to keep going. Brock has some amazing sets of wood offered at some great prices. When I bid on an item, I take into account that I might not get that item for a month or so. Some people think that's unacceptable and that's their right. I've just learned to live it because ultimately, this stuff is worth the wait. |

Post subject: | Re: AUCTION :: TIGER MYRTLE |
Clearly, this beating is deserved. I fully admit that and apologize for it. I am getting everything shipped. Most is either out, or boxed and ready to go. There are however, a few things where I need to dig to make sure I have everything accounted for. Sometimes it takes a little work to connect the dots when the user handle, pay pal address, and name don't match, but those are the exception not the rule. Here is what I have been doing lately. The auction ships the DAY I receive payment for it. If it is on a weekend it is packed, labeled and ready to go that day and dropped off at UPS the next day they are open. International orders take a day longer since I ship these USPS (mostly at the buyers request) and that requires a trip to the post office, standing in line, etc.. That is going to be the new normal. So even as I dig out from this mess I have created for myself, this "new way" is going to be sacrosanct. As to the rest of it, I am trying not to say much. I don't want to make it seem like excuses. I will fix this with actions, not words. I take fully responsibility for this and I am sorry if any of this has rubbed off Lance. None of this has been his doing. It is mine. But there are a couple of points I would like to clarify. These are not justifications, just things that shouldn't get lost in the suffle of the larger conversation. The wood is always great. I pride myself on great product, and I always come through -- nobody ever gets stiffed. Yes, it is inexcusable how long it takes me to ship, but I always deliver. The only thing I can say is I am sorry. Truly. Hopefully in time you will see that I am committed to fixing this permanently. The only thing that will fix this though is DOING this, not talking about it. I really have nothing else to offer except humility and a dedication to turn the situation around immediately. |
