:?: I was watching a bending video I think with Todd Stock were he marked the waist of the sides with a masking tape tab to help get the side in the right spot. It's a great ideas but my fear is the glue in the tape and the heat does it come off on the wood? Would the old gummed paper tape be better?

I mark with tape, slip it into the bender, measure, pull tape and reinsert.

If you wrap your wood in foil or whatever, put the tape on that .... it never touches the wood.

I tape the bindings to the sides with green masking tape, directly on the wood. Never had a problem.

I used to use chalk to mark my position but now I have a story pole. This secret will be out on the Open House this Sat. There should be a video soon.

Another way is to drill a small 1/16" hole at the position and insert a toothpick to mark the spot. It's easily seen and no glue or tape are required. ;)

I just mark the waist with a pencil..........then remove the mark with an eraser.

I mark the side with chalk and tear a small slit in the craft paper to allow the mark to be visible. I also mark the UB and LB borders and confirm that they line up appropriately in the form as well.
