Post subject:  Question re Curly Maple Fretboard Bindings

I'm getting ready to start working on guitar numero uno and have a question regarding whether curly maple fretboard bindings have a tendency to discolor from playing. I will be using curly maple bindings for the body, but don't know if the white wood will wear well (say that phrase three times fast). I know I've seen curly maple used before to bind the fretboard, but it was always on a new guitar and they, of course, looked great at that point. Thanks.

When I use maple as fretboard bindings, I seal the none-finished sections with CA glue. That prevents dirt from darkening the bindings too much, or at least makes cleaning-up easier.
