I want a different string spacing at the bridge. Any ideas on how to redrill the holes without taking off the bridge? ![]() |

Actually I heard of someone putting a 1/16" bit in the end of a tube. Not sure where one gets it? |

I've seen someone superglued the drill bit to a plastic tube of a ballpoint pen. I superglued mine to a disposable bamboo chopstick drilled by the same bit. |

Any good 'hobby shop' that caters to model aircraft and railroad enthusiasts will have a good selection of small metal tubing. Take the drill to the store and find a good fit. I've made one of these (long drill) but haven't gotten around to using it yet. It tested OK (I just used CA to anchor the drill, so no heavy-duty drilling is planned! Cheers John |

I buy 8" long 1/16" drill bits. I can use a hand or electric drill and long as I make the depth of cut very clear. I also protect the guitar top. Filling the holes is fairly easy using scrap from the bridge and making tiny dowels to fill the holes. There is a local hardware store (Bellingham) with an extensive selection of long bits. If you cannot find any let me know and I will be happy to send one to you. I have extras. |
