They both have some extremely lively taptones. almost worried they will have to much bas !! both also really thinly braced but to make up for it I have a little heavier top plate both are Lutz and are around 0.112 and 0.118" thick. tyhe weight of the box on each is 830grams for the smaller and 870grams for the large, so they are both really light in weight.
the larger one (the sack of potatoes) haha. It will look awesome once bindings are on and some nice sunburst ala´Gibson. 
About The double X, I have tried Lattice underneath the main X, Larrivee bracing and regular bracing pattern and double X, so far I can say that Lattice makes a real stiff top so it needs to be built with a lighter top to compensate for this, wish in its turn gives the instrument a certain kind of sound !. the Larrivee bracing pattern (used on the larger one) and regular, double X is to me a smaller difference in tone than lattice. like Al Garruth said. it was not much difference in tone when he made 2 guitars with almost identical specs but different bracing patterns. I think it mostly comes down to "fingertip feeling" for how to make your tops with "your" bracings on, how "you" carve them how thin and where etc. in relation to the top thickness- in relation to how it flex etc etc. all this together is what makes a certain guitar sound Larrivee, Bourgouis etc. In the bewginning I felt like "if I make the braces like in that photo it will sound just like that guitar etc, but it is sooo much more to it. and that in the end is "fingertip feeling" for a lackj of a better word. I have not made enough guitar to say I have it, but so far so good haha.

Have anyone tried sunburst on a guiltedmaple by first using black stain to pop out the quilt like as done on wavey maple ?

I just put on some nice quilted koa bindings, sanded and scraped, looking pretty nice now I must say.
