Post subject: | Want to put my logo on a guitar case |
There are times when I would like to be able to put my logo/company name on a stock guitar case I purchase from people like Dennis at Cedar Creek. I'd like to figure out how to make a template and then spray my logo onto the case. Has anyone here attempted this with good results. I've gone the embroidered route on a couple cases from Ameritage - but looking for a way to get the logo on a lesser expensive case. Thanks |

How about a signmaker making a sticker for you. If you had Ameritage do your logo, you should still have if in PDF format. |

I've considered stickers - but they have too many down sides. I want something that looks very professional. |

I doubt spray paint will look professional ![]() Try getting some brass plates with your logo engraved and then rivet them on - |

So John, how do you suppose Gibson gets the logo on the side of their cases? |

I'm guessing that it's silkscreened on. That would be one way of doing it. Cal |

The National Reso-phonic logo looks to be spray painted on their cases... looks at least as good as the Gibson logos. -jd |

If I'm not mistaken, Cedar Creek will put a logo plate or a name plate on a guitar case for you for something like $15.00 - $25.00. Maybe it's just a name plate, but if they can do it, so can you with little brass screws. After all the cases are wood. |

Yes - Cedar Creek can make a nameplate for me - but it is just a basic stock stamped letter type plate. 2 lines. This would not be my logo "icon" and typeface as seen below: Attachment: burner_guitars_logo_smooth_400px.jpg

So get your own plates made up and put them on with a couple of screws. Here is one place. I'm sure it's not cheap, but what is? http://www.brassname.com/Decorative-pla ... -oval.html |

Waddy, I thought about this - but most companies have a 250-piece minimum order. Let's see - 4 guitars per year and 250 plates = 62.5 years worth of plates. Nah.... I don't think that makes sense. hahahahahahahah |

Paul, I haven't had any plates made, but I suspect you could find a local trophy company to make some. I suspect their minimum would be alot less than 250. The Ameritage cases aren't what I'd consider expensive. Is the logo on them expensive? |

Woody, Let me clarify..... I have had Ameritage make custom cases for my guitars with embroidered logos - and they are WONDERFUL. However, there are times when a customer doesn't want to take the big bite for that much of a case (I don't include them in my price) - or in other instances they just don't want a case that is as heavy as the Ameritage. So... I'm looking for another option to put my name on the case - yet have it done tastefully - and not make the case the price of the Ameritage because of my label. I've thought hard about the labels and will contact some local trophy shops and see if they can help me. I was just looking for something a bit larger that I could put on the top of the case. (Shameless advertising) |

You might consider laser engraving on a piece of leather and then use some type of decorative rivet to attach it to the case. Or maybe put it on a piece of leather that wraps around the handle of the case. |

Paul, do some digging around. I saw one place that would even do one-offs for as little as $25.00. The price went down with multiples. Some of these guys can laser cut, instead of engraving. There is also printed metal as an option. |

I don't think the spray paint idea is bad per se. Obviously spraying is an idea we all respect, and some of the stuff in spray cans is good quality stuff. Or break out the spray gun for some automotive or marine paint or pigmented lacquer. Laser cut stencils can be ordered online. Seems pretty straightforward to slap a stencil on the case and spray away. Not as straightforward and risk free as screwing on a brass plate, but it can be much bigger and is different. Also, I'm not sure Silk screen would work so well on a tweedy or tolex surface. No shame in advertising your business! Peace, Sanaka |
