Waiting for my ebony order to come in for #1. Worked on rosette for #2 today, may be too much, but hey 10 feet of shell isn't?

Thanks, checked out your link. Nice, would like to hear your theories on the ports. I am a rookie here, but no rube. T

Have some fun with that style, it's not used often and is greatly appreciated

I appreciate your comment and understand your point. But please understand I am trying to eliminate the paint by numbers black outline nature of common guitar trim. In my opinion it looks primitive and cartoonish. I understand my technique is imperfect but I put the rosette of #2 together in 2 hours. Realizing things quickly has been a cronic motivator of all of my artistic endeavors for 40 years. Because something is common does not mean it is correct. I read endlessly that this is the golden age of guitar making, so make it so. T

I love it! Any tips on doing the stopped channels?

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the guitar.

I'm cutting the channels on an overarm router, it allows very easy plunging, you're not hand holding a tool that may move. I use a custom variable radius fixture I have developed for furniture part and inlay shaping, it makes cutting these channels a breeze. I need to refine my inlay veneer cutting technique to eliminate grain walk with a more rigid contact adhesive than I have needed for furniture inlay, some of the cuts are 4-6 thousands off. I am trying not to use fiber filler as I view it as refined putty not to mention its paint by numbers visual quality. I appreciate your reply. T.
