Here is a very dense, OLD Growth set of Brazilian Rosewood. This set came from a luthier's estate who retired in the 70's. It has a truly exceptional tap tone. The sides are about 6" wide. The back will easily make a dreadnaught. Retail value is $900. You can end the auction for a bid of $750 and get free domestic shipping. (We are going to try this one without a reserve). ![]() The auction ends tomorrow TUESDAY at 3PM EST. |

Brock, I don't really want to be picky, but since we are getting into some pricey wood here, can you work a bit on getting some contrast into your photos? Maybe adding a closeup? |

Yeah, I can try, but the lighting in my shop is terrible and my camera skills suck... but I will try. Are you blowing this all the way up (I have to click it twice). The image is 1250 wide. |

You aren't alone, but I have gotten my sets without a hitch, so far. I have had to wait a couple of months on an occasion or two, but everything has come through. |

I think the problem has to do with the mishmash of lights in my shop. It is 1/2 incandescent with 300W bulbs and 1/2 florescent -- some with warm bulbs and some with cool. And halogens all over my workbench. I am shooting with a 10MB Coolpix set on "SCENE" with the flash off. The concrete floor is really a very light gray. I use Fireworks to prep them. Mostly I am reducing them and doing the unsharp trick (100,.6,0) to not lose detail as the pics get smaller. I am certainly open to suggestions and tips on getting better pictures. |

Ken I know I have been bad about this in the past, but I really am turning over a new leaf. |

If I leave it on auto yes, it fires. And it produces a lot of glare on the sets. |

Interestingly enough the place is as bright as an operating room. The light color kind of sucks, but for any close work I use my bench which has nearly 1200W of Halogens on it. I have terrible eye sight, so with that much light and a good magnifier I am ok. |

If your camera has a manual white balance ability, try setting it from a piece of white paper. Should at least kinda obviate the mix of light temps you have. If you do that, and shoot from a tripod with no flash, I bet your shots will be a lot nicer. Better yet, just send me all the wood and I'll photograph it for you ![]() Peace, Sanaka |

Got this set today. Absolutely beautiful! Dark chocolate brown color with a few heavy ink lines. It will make a stunning guitar when I get around to building with it several more guitars down the road. Thanks for getting it in the mail so quickly, Brock. Glad the color was off in the pictures to keep you guys from running the price up too much ![]() Ken |
