For my current build I plan on making an S shaped end graft but i'm not sure of he best way to go about doing this. The scheme will be spalted maple bound with curly koa and bwb purfling. Up until this project I have only made wedge shaped grafts. I don't expect that creating the wedge piece will be too difficult but I'm worried about how I will cut or route the channel for it to be laid into. Is there any sort of standard practice for doing this kind of work? I'm very happy with how this build has gone so far and I don't want to mess it up now!

I'd probably just go with regular inlay style. Stick it on with a couple dots of glue, score around it with a razor knife, pop it off, and router out to the score lines.
