Hi, guys. I'm just a beginner at building, having not even completed my first scratch built guitar. But I'm a musician so I have several guitars already, as well as a couple of basses and sundry other instruments. To compound the problem, I live in a trailer, and to loosely quote George Carlin,I've got too much stuff for the home I live in now. Buyin another or moving is not an option, so if I continue this building thing(no question but that I will) storage is gonna be a problem. Where do you put them(if not in the hands of customers)? |

I dunno, but a few guitars in their cases make a killer set of end tables. Does your couch have an ottoman? ![]() |

As for me, I'm not selling them yet. I've given away three so far. Fun to have friends playing them. Hanging them on the wall is an option - |

Give them away. I've got so many people on my "give away" list, ill probably be on #15 before I start actually selling. |

I have guitars in most rooms of the house, but luck would have it none in the basement workshop when the 8" of water came in Sunday morning. Let this be a lesson to us all, no guitars on basement floor in cases. I lost the case for the Dread I am presently working on, it was standing against the wall still in the box, the 8" at the but end are ruined thus the entire case. Fred |

Although it could have been worse, I suppose, cases aren't exactly cheap, and if you're building for a paying client you'll have to eat the cost, so my sympathies to you. I hope you didn't get much damage to your shop or tools. |

I think the most common and best answer to this space question is to look to move things up into the unused air space. This worked well for me in my garage which had a lot of it. Since you are in a trailer you don't have much unused air space. Have you thought of a cheap metal shed outdoors for storing items that do not need temperature and humidity control (or stick a window A/C unit in the side of a shed for those that do)? Ed |

All those new flat screen tv's out there. What did those folks do with their old TV cabinets. Ours is oak with nice storage underneath with a nice analog tv we don't watch anymore. You could get one and add glass doors and have a humidity controlled area for a few gits. Ditch the TV , you'd have more time to play and build. Bill |

I`m with ya, Mike. The only room in this cracker box that doesn`t have a guitar in it is the bathroom. If I keep going the way I am, I`m gonna have to peel the skirting loose and start stacking them under the house. ![]() Living solo does have its benefits. I do have two hanging on the wall as a test, and haven`t had an issue in 2 years, but I`m not sold on the hangers that I made. It`s also twister season, and I shudder at the thought of scavenging them from the wreckage. Coe Franklin |

I lived in a small motor home for many years, 3 guitars and drums and such, I kept them in the bed, each night before bed I had to move them onto the floor and on the counter, it was a hassle, but not much of one, I would rather have too many instruments then too few. Rob |
