I took a trip to my uncle's cabinet shop to do some of the work I don't have the tools/patience for.
Price of admission: sanding 47 face frames. Ugh.
I had planned glue up for the front, back, and neck as well as making my forms, rosette inlay and thicknessing on all my surfaces.......
However, after 3 hours on the drum/palm sander I only got to glue up.
At this rate I may have a guitar by the time my kid graduates college (I don't have any kids yet)

(just found out you can't upload pics via tapatalk so I'll add some later)

Welcome Scott,

Back glue-up looks nice, along with headstock design. Your scarf joint is reverse from what most people would do? (Most would have main neck shaft extending to end, with headstock glued on below.) Home shop looks about right for many of us.

Bakwards scarf joint = getting in a hurry.... gaah

still gets the job done... should be able to hide the seam well. It is a nice tight joint.

Sorry to ask but I just wanted to know.... you already have a website to sell guitars on your second build?

Trying to make a small fortune building guitars? ;)

Nothing like that AT ALL... haha

I work night shift and have three days off a week (tues/wed/thurs). During the day on tues/wed/thurs there isn't a whole lot to do while the wife is at work. I put that together in hopes someone would commission one but I am not getting my hopes up... more for fun than anything. Total spent: $15 for the domain name. Website software came on the computer.

I know I will never make money building guitars (that's not what I plan on doing), however, I would like for someone to pay for the materials used in my hobby. Is that too much to ask for?

No, its not too much to ask. However I do believe one should improve their craft with a good amount of builds before offering them for sale. I'm sure most would agree with me that the first few instruments can do more damage to one's reputation than good.
My suggestion is to build a few guitars and have them played and inspected by people that have experience in both playing and craftsmanship. Then try to market your instruments based on feedback.
Don't want to burst your bubble here just offering sound advice. Get some good guitars built, get some good quality pictures and sound clips or even videos. Then, go on and make your small fortune.... (luthier's joke) ;)
