I posted this in the Shops Post but thought I'd post it here too to see what your thoughts on it might be.
This is the prototype and I'm still in the R&D of it. I plan on adding a mini air pencil grinder to it with a percision adjustment simular to the axis adjustment. Changing the axis changes the ellispe shape and changing the pencil distance changes the size. It's based on John Farey's early Ellispograph from 1810 and on HAFF drawing instruments adaptation of it and now my adaptation of it for Lutherie use, I Hope
As it stands now it's just a ellispograph until I add the air grinder. I have a cheap HF for the prototype. Do you all see the use for this or is it just me?

Once I perfect it I could always farm that out if I find a need for these. The thing is it can be used to make templates for routing guides also. I started out by trying to look for ellispe templates for a sound port and a set was from $50 on discontinued sale to $90. I'm planning on cutting a template with it into plexi for the soundport and then heating the plexi and forming it to the guitar side and then routing it out or maybe just using 1/16" poly and make a guide bushing for the mini grinder or just hand cut it. I bought the cheap HF grinder just for the Prototype because cash is at a low right now. Maybe I should give John a call.
