This is a very nice, set of Pommelle Mahogany. It will build a very striking guitar - with tons of figure. It is large enough for a dreadnaught.

Retail value is $250, but a bid of $190 will end the auction early and get free domestic shipping

This auction ends tomorrow (SATURDAY) at 6PM EST. (we will end it a little later since we are getting a late start on it).

Good Luck.

Great "auctions" as usual [:Y:] [:Y:] Not for me to say, but I just wonder if its just me thinking like this. ;)
dont we have a classifieds section for selling stuff ? .
"please ignore my input" not looking for a discussion !

might it not be better to have a starting bid at 190 or a bit less, and then let the "auction" run untill the deadline. highest bidder then wins it.
like this, its a sale ! not an auction.

again- not looking for a discussion ! just voicing my opinion.

The buy it now price came from feedback from international members and folks in other timezones who were having trouble getting to the auction when it closed. This provides an option for them, and it seems pretty popular.

I agree a good deal of feedback was taken into consideration from a number of earlier sales to come up with this current formula. I have not bought anything as yet but would be happy to see things continue with this same format in case I get the urge because it works very well at giving all a fair chance of securing a set they are really in the hunt for rather than competing with those who may be simply looking to add yet another set to the stash.

Cheers

Kim

I agree that is is popular, but I'm not sure I follow the logic here. Why would international bidders and those in other time zones need to get to the auction when it closed? They could put their best price in any time while the auction is open, which is usually a few days. Under the current system, with the attractive "buy it now" price, there are far more bidders left out of the process because they were not the first serious bidder to see the auction. When they do see it, it is over.

It is your wood and your auction, and not really my business, but it seems that letting the auctions run would create more interest, more fun for everyone, and more money from the proceeds of the auctions. After all, the proceeds are going to a good cause. :)
