And do you have currious kids? Well then, check your frequency basis regularly, make sure its set to 440 before tuning your guitars. It was only after the third guitar and several broken strings I finally realized that my youngest son Corey had selflessly adjusted my tuner to 460 Hz. Not a lot mind you, but just enough to overstress many strings.  Mike |

That's true of any chromatic tuner. They all have a calibration setting and flats settings. |

Mike my son is 8 now, but we had some good similar fun with him several years ago. we've always been hands-on with him and music. and he has excelled. he's a great player now and has big ears. but early on, there were some moments. he didn't find my electronic tuner to be very interesting. the tuning machines, however, ... he was way into those. that was not a big deal compared with the time that he beat on our real ivory piano keys, with a flute... |

Back in the day when VHS units were expensive my youngest son shoved a PB & J sandwich in the cartridge receiver.
