Hello! Started lurking again....I have been a student of Todd Stocks for close to two years and I am getting really really close to completing my first build. Very exciting! Here are some pics of my fingerboard inlay, I will post pics from the build and the completed guitar when it is finished - I just couldn't wait to share these though... |

A little info - the inlay goes from the 8th to the 15th frets with the flowers marking the 12th and 9th frets. The pedals are holly and the branch is cherry. I'm very happy with it. |

Nicely done - I like the burl in the cherry. What did you use for the fret dams? Kathy |

I really like how it came out. I hope I am that good when I get to the inlay part. Chuck |

Very tasteful. Is it your own design & execution? Materials? John |

Thanks Todd. I have some UHMW scraps that I have hung onto and I'll use them for this. Kathy |

Quote: Todd Stock wrote: We mill .022" strips of UHMW-PE for the job...quote] I was just about to say that! ~not really~ This design was adapted from a design of my moms that we've used in a few stained glass panels and I did something similar with some small fused plates. I love dogwood. I tought the flowers as the fret markers would be cool. I'm working on a decorative inlay now for practice, tropical fish... |
