I'm some what of a newb, I've seen the zpoxy tutorials and was wondering about pore filling the top? Is anyone pore filling their tops? If not zpoxy how is the top addressed with respect to pore filling? Your input is greatly appreciated. |

If the top is spruce, there are no pores to fill. If you are using Koa, that's another matter entirely. In other words, the finish process depends on the characteristics of the wood being finished. |

No need to pore fill softwoods as the generally don't have pores. Do not be tempted to put the z-poxy on your soundboard. You willl not get enough of it off when it comes time to glue on your bridge and the bridge will lift after a month or two. Steve |

Agree that the bridge can lift. I have had two guitars (1 spruce & 1koa) and one uke(Koa) do this. I do use epoxy on the sound board but now I put masking tape before the epxoy then remove it after finishing to glue the bridge. |
