I called my local Michael's and they had two I drove straight over and when I got there they only had one left. What good deal it's regularly $179.99. Thanks for the heads up Todd.

It's the taller flex one you linked to.

I think it would be great for a desk lamp or drafting lamp but for work lights, I like more flexibility so you can come at things form different angles. This one only works well from above.

Thanks for the heads-up, Todd.

I just got back from Michael's here in Sugar Land, TX and bought the last 2 tall desk models for the $50 each price plus one small lamp at $20. (They actually had a floor standing model for $50 too which I passed on.) Great deals and will work nicely in my shop since they can be clipped to the bench or set on it.

This is a very important aspect to me. My overhead lights ( 8 - 4' fluorescent tubes and 3 - 18W fluorescent bulbs) are all of the same 5,000 Kelvin temperature and very high (highest I could find) Color Rendering Index (CRI). So these bench top lights will match everything in my shop which is extra bright realistic colored lighting. The photos in my shop look much like outdoor lighting. These bench top lights are the icing on the cake for closeup task lighting for me.
