I am wondering about making a 12 string on a smaller body like a OOO or is it a bad idea. What about the MJ design? Mike McNerney |

I'm getting VG results with GC size box, stout construction on the top and very heavy strings. |

My last one was a 16" Small Jumbo, and it was a cannon. I left the top about 25% thicker than 'usual', and the braces 25% taller, so it was twice as stiff, but there was only 25% more mass to drive with twice the tension. With all of the extra treble energy I tend to think that a larger and more 'bass balanced' box would be better, but then, that SJ was the smallest 12 I've ever made. |

Brook Guitars over here in the UK make 12 strings on parlour sized instruments with great results. |
