Does anyone have a dust collection system for a jig-saw? I'm looking for ideas because i'm getting tired of having to vac every time i use mine which i use alot and it does make a mess around the bench and on the floor. |

I dont understand why they even make jigsaws without some sort of port. I can hardly cut 3-4 inches on a line with my Dewalt before I have to stop and blow the dust off so I can see the line again. I tried taping a vacuum hose on the front and stuff, was awkward and poorly collected. Im sure there must be some better ideas out there. I dont really use my jigsaw much, but if I had to do a ton of work with one I would maybe consider one of the festool saws with a built in dust port. |

Looking at Festool's jig saw, it would seem that an option would be to make a secondary shoe for the sole plate that utilizes a crevice tool attachment for your shop-vac/dc system. Since most jig saw blades cut on the upstroke, collecting it from the top side would seem to be the best option. http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/fest ... divac.aspx Darrin |
