Post subject:  Delcamp's Classical Guitar Forum offline??

Does anyone have any info about the Delcamp forums? I haven't been able to log on for a week now. I just get this message:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Too many connections [1040]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

Thanks,
Chris

Well i guess the webmaster mailbox is likely filled with another 2000 emails (delcamp is a big forum) asking what is going on, so all we have to do is wait.

I've had the same experience, too.

Yeah, it seems like it's been 4-5 days. I'm a little surprised it's taking this long to get it back up. But, then again, I don't know what the problem is.

Looks like the problem got worse - I am not getting this -

Quote:
"The config.php file could not be found.

Before it was just a MySQL error -
on another forum - I read that the operator is on vacation and
can't do anything right now to fix it remotely, but he does know about the issue.

I received a reply from Jean-Francois Delcamp. Only problem is it's in French & the only Frenchman in the office is not in today. Perhaps, a OLF Francophile can translate:

Bonjour,

Basically, he's saying that he's doing all he can, but the problem is with his hosting service. They've not given him a date when sevaice will be restored. If necessary, he will change hosts, but with 8 forums to manage, it would take many days to get everything back up.

Not a literal translation, just what I'm remembering from my read before posting this reply by iPhone . Cheers!

Tim's quick translation matches mine, so that's what it means. Except that, additionally, he opens by saying that he has been working at it for many days already.

I wish him well. It comforts me that he is aware and attending to the issue. When things like this come up I am left wondering if it is just a problem on my end.
