I picked up an old classical on craigs list for $45.00 tonight. Bought it from a guy about 80, he couldn't tell me much. To my eye it looks hand made with rosewood sides, mahogany back (stained to resemble rosewood), spanish cedar neck, some sort of light color rosewood bridge and finger board. The down side is it's got a spruce top that is far from quarter sawn, replaced steel string tuners.

The label says TALLER DE INSTRMENTOS DE CUERDA, HNOS FERNANDEZ, AREQUIPA PERU

Any one heard of this luthier?

I'll try to get pictures taken soon.

I never heard of them, but the label translated is "Fernandez Brothers Stringed Instrument Workshop, Arequipa, Peru""

At first I thought it might be this - a reference to the Peruvian bricks - found in another post here -
