Hi all. took some photos with my new camera. bliss
Lighting was a sis in the shop. So I havent done anything except put the guitars where i want them and pressed the button. Still came out quite nice I think even with this bad lighting.
The shine guitar is the one I recently sprayed my first attempt with Nitro ! So this is how she came out !
The other guitar is how far I am at the moment ! :D
New rosette idea as you can see , Cedar top From Our good friend DANNY . Thanks a million my friend.!!
other than that lots of shots just for fun. Oh, new neck idea to.

How did you do it? Did you shape the inlays by hand or develop a router jig for them?

Just used a normal rosette jig. Wells/carol is what it´s called if I am not mistakes ?

Its my first with the Larrivee style bracing pattern. made it really light and ansted had the top a tad thicker. rings like a bell though.

I will be doing a sunburst on it something that will blend in from the Cocobolo sides. tobacco/mahogany red. might ad some amber in the middel, But I am not sure yet, any advice on this would be most welcomed !!! It will be my first time to try sunburst. :?

I love the rosette in the third pic.... its almost hypnotizing(or maybe its the beers) :shock:

So....what camera is it?

I like the shot of the bridge looking down the neck. The dimensional depth adds drama.

Advice? I dunno. Spray your first through twelfth sunbursts on plywood? :D. Good luck on that. Scary?

Lots of cool design elements going on - body shape on the cutaway model, and its headstock, fingerboard end, and both very different and very well executed rosettes. Nice work!

I too am interested in how you did the rosette. Specifically the inlay. Did you shape the curved ends of the inlay pieces by hand or did you create a jig to mate with the router channel? Nice effect!

The Inlay is real simple, just use your rosette jig as usual. put it in the middle of the normal rosette and then let it cut from there on the lower inlays. like a pendel on a clock.

Zlurgh- Nervous more of. :D but its gonna be fun to spray though. [:Y:]
Its a Canon 550D with a 50mm lens. Love this camera. !!!

Lars-
By 'inlay' I meant the pieces of wood that are glued into the channel you have routed with the rosette jig.
I understand how you made the 'hole'; it's the 'filler' that's the question- especially the rounded ends to fit into the channel.
Did you do those all with the router, or cut the 'ring' with the router and then round the ends by hand?
And, that's a thin black fiber around the edge of the inlay piece?
Pretty neat work!

John. I used the router to cut part of a rosette ring. and then sanded the edges by hand to fit the roundness. and I used black fibre purf its the 0.02 thick. [:Y:]
I had made a scetch on Illustrator first and it came up pretty cool, but then at first I was a bit hesitant to do it for real. I think it looks great though so I am happy with it. for the next one I will try some more blick bling around the edges like abalone.

What did you say to that guitar? It looks like it's blushing. Wow Bro! That is going to be one sexy guitar. Cool design all around. Cool bracing. Do you always glue the top on before the back? Keep us posted on the burst process. I'm ready to venture in that direction soon. Did you pick up an air brush and if so what is it?

Hey Danny ! mr Jamaica man. :D . I have Iwata LPH-80 really nice gun ! . Last guitar I put the back on first ! allthough I didn´t like it. with the top first I can tap it and see if i want to sand it and or chisel the bracings some more. I do prefer it this way I must say.

Not only really clean and tight work, but you've got a really appealing artistic aesthetic in these guitars. I really love what you're doing. You've also got a really cool innovative look with that rosette,while preserving really classic proportions. I love it.

Tjenare Lars. Fantastic looking guitars! I really like the body shape on the one to the left. Is that your own design?

Swede, I mean sweet looking guitars Lars. :D Good luck on the burst. I'm venturing that way as well on one I'm currently building. I have an airbrush, but thought I'd try spraying it with my Sata minijet. I'll try plywood first as per Zlurgh.
