Unfortunately, almost nothing... Everything has been happening *outside* ... I planted out far too much stuff in the yard... Hole digging galore... I have run thru about 1/2 ton of mulch so far -- and I am about 20% done with the mulch work...

They always talk about the Home being the Biggest investment... I believe "Investment" is the wrong word for it.... unless you call throwing your money down a rat hole into the abyss an "Investment"...

But... It's *MY* house!

*Sigh*

Thanks

John

Installing tentalones (lining blocks to the top and side join for my first flamenco.
Found tentallones and HHG to be quite an enjoyable relaxing experience.

Finished binding and scraping my first OM (and second in total)... After almost 2 hours of scraping my right hand is close to a typewriter's cramp.

As you can tell by the number of pictures posted, I am quite happy with the way this delicate step turned out. bliss

Jeff, I suggest dentellones as the correct spelling ( sorry can't help myself on the subject [uncle] )

I am making a new rosette in a 3 piece Swiss spruce top. It's just for fun - I developed a nasty palm strain from the gramil so binding my current build is on hold.

So who was it that said ebony dust filled fret slots are visible?! You must be doing something wrong. Impossible to find on this guitar - a very clean look. Thanks to those that suggested this approach. It blows away having to bind:

Hey, Filippo,

What did you do there? Did you clip the ends of the fret tangs and fill with ebony dust and CA? That looks great. I would like to try it on a future build.

Thanks,
Max

Working on the fingerboard and handguard for the new tricone. Both wenge. The guard still needs drilled for the screws and then lots of shaping. FB still needs inlays...then there's the tailpiece. Lots to do!

Had this Ibanez in for repair. Fell off a chair. The owner couldn't figure out why the intonation suddenly went out of wack, until he noticed the bridge post tilted forward. It's a Basswood body, so I thought the hole probably egged out, but when I took the pickguard and bridge off I found this

Knocked a chunk right out into the pickup cavity. Easy fix though...

And the Baritone Uke just got the box closed(not trimmed flush yet)

Now that is an inspiring batch. Looks like you had to stop because you ran out of molds!

Been out a while. Wife and I are travelling. Had to break down the shop as we sold the house and hit the road. Sure miss the fun. You guys are producing some wonderful looking instruments. Keep up the good work. Wish I could find an open shop near Des Moines, just to spend some time in the shop, watching. Later ...

Nah, I have a couple more, but in this batch I'm doing mulitples of some of the ones in the picture. I'm just building the boxes as a big batch, then I'll be working on them individually after that. Doing every step on all of them at the same time would be like ... eek

I'm being cautious about not offering up my fingers to luthrie so I'm making this rip saw in lieu of a table saw. I'll be able to cut 2.5" x 16" x 48" stock to any width 1" - 10". The saw is designed with plain, frelon coated linear bearings running on ceramic coated shafts. The stock will be clamped down to the platter.

Should be about as safe as can be.

The design is complete and I'll begin on this next week.

BWV1006a Loure

Finally learn the latter half of this little piece. It was played with the retopped guitar and it came out better than my expectation.

Over the weekend I got my binding jig built out of leftover junk to work, and like a virgin, I cut binding channels for the very first time. I made it thru the wilderness, somehow I made it through. And now I'm posting these pics, I'm posting them all for you.

Yes. On a test piece the bearing left a harsh-looking groove, and I was a little worried about tear out on the top, so I went overboard with tape. I turned out really good though.
