I recently completed my 14th guitar, I am very happy with it and feel that it is the best I have made. The sound is strong and well balanced. The Blackwood back and sides give the sound an interesting flavor. Tony Ferguson did the flawless finish on this one and brought out the best of the great woods that went into making it. I will be taking this one to Spain with me this summer for the annual flamenco course. Here are the Specs: Top - Englemann Spruce Top fan braces and harmonic bars - Sitka Spruce Bridge patch - Port Orford Cedar Sound hole donut - Western Red Cedar Back, sides and back headstock veneer - Tazzie Blackwood Back braces and linings - Spanish Cedar Neck - Spanish Cedar (with carbon fiber re-enforcement) Fingerboard - Gabon Ebony Bridge and front headstock veneer - Cocobolo Bindings and heel cap - EIR Rosette - Miguel Rodriguez design replica Plantilla - 1933 Santos Hernandez flamenca Scale length - 650 mm Tuning machines - Gotoh premium classical Finish - Catalyzed Urethane by Tony Ferguson Here are a back and side shot from Tony Ferguson that depict the color a bit better than my pictures which follow. Because of the color I have named this guitar "Orilla Negra" (little black/gold girl - it's much more poetic in Spanish). Wow. Looks great man! Very well done! I love that color, and the lighter color on either side of the strip on the back. |

Here's a final picture which shows a good representation of the near back color. Hence, the "Negra" (black) part of the name "Orilla Negra". Attachment: Fondo w Finish.jpg Regards, Max |

Very, very nice Max my friend!!! It seems that we both are partial to moderately figured Blackwood and the purflings look great too. I like your label too. Great job as always Max! |

That is a beautiful looking guitar. I hope to be able to build a guitar that beautiful one day. I am currently working on #1, and while I am loving it, I am learning a lot of stuff the hard way. |

Thanks for the nice comments, guys. Especially to you, Peter, for your help, advice and enthusiasm. It's great to have another guitar freak and wood addict close enough to get together with once in a while. Max |
