Just strung it up today. Yes...another ukulele. Once you start building ukuleles, all your friends want one ![]() Anyway, this one is a tenor size from the hana lima plans Body...Koa Neck...Mahogany Binding...Maple/rosewood rope ![]() Finish...wipe on poly over shellac The tone is great so far. I can't wait until the strings stop stretching so I can get through a whole song. |

Very Nice! Who's plan did you use and did yor make the neck? I'm just finishing a Tiple ( ten steel strings about the size of a tenor uke with two double and two triple courses of strings) in EIR with an Adi top. I'll post pictures when I finish. Steve Brown |

Looks great Quine. Love the binding. I've only built two ukes so far, both tenors, one an archtop and one a Kasha braced style. I plan to make lots more. A great way to use up smaller boards etc. and for me at least, much quicker to build at least compared to a full size archtop ![]() |

Very nice! I'm working on my first two ukulele's right now. 90% of the materials I'm using are simply scraps from other projects. They're pretty fun to make! Hopefully mine will turn out as nice as yours. |

Quine, I LOVE it! The slot head is especially nice. What tuners did you use? Mike Franks http://www.mjfranksguitar.com |

Quine, Wow, another fine looking ukulele! When I get a chance to build another ukulele I hope they come out as nice as yours. Looks like the next step is building a low G model and or one of the Hana Lima Kasha braced ukuleles. Don’t forget to include the ever popular pin less bridge on the next one. The pin less bridge is very popular with ukulele builders since it makes a very clean look while keeping a good string angle. I think this would be popular with steel string builders except that steel strings have balls on the end and that would make it difficult to attach through a hole through the bridge and top. With the nylon strings we just push the string end into the hole and fish the end through the sound hole using a wire with a hook bent on one end. We just tie a bead on the end and the string will pull up tight against the bridge patch. This really makes a nice clean look. Philip |
